The Natives was a song originally released by Hollywood Undead on their MySpace page sometime in 2005. After the band signed to MySpace Records, the song was re-recorded and intended for release on Hollywood Undead. Afterwards, it was planned to be released on Swan Songs, but never made it to the final cut. Instead, it was used as a bonus track for the Smartpunk version of the album. It was later released on the band's first EP, Swan Songs B-Sides EP, and later featured on the collector's edition of Swan Songs. It is notable for being the first song featuring each member having a definitive vocal part throughout the song.

Official Lyrics[]

Deuce: Seems like everyone's got their beef
But tomorrow we'll be shining brighter
We'll keep it going, fighting
Hold on when we win, take a hit
'Cause we never gonna lose it dying
We gonna keep on fighting
Hold on when we win, take a hit
'Cause we never gonna lose it dying
We gonna keep on fighting

Deuce and Funny Man: And all the days come back to me
Come back to what we used to be
Funny Man: And in the end, we'll find the rest
Deuce and Funny Man: The rest has gone away
And yesterday, we used to say
We'd never change and stay the same
Funny Man: And in the end, we'll find the rest
Deuce and Funny Man: The rest has gone away

Charlie Scene: It gets harder to see what people want me to be
It's just me being me, I'm just Charlie Scene
I used to follow my dream to play guitar and sing
Now I rhyme over beats, I take it seriously
I used to flow with Gs, it was a joke to me
And I would never foresee that I would be an emcee
When I would skate the streets, I had a fake ID
And carved my name on a tree back when it was J.T.
And now Undead will get props for the rest of our lives
And that's like getting a permanent high-five
'Cause people like our tight rhymes and haters get a black eye
From six crazy white guys
I'm just a guy in a band with a mic in my hand
Who decided to rap and fell in love with his fans
And now my flows are the sickest, rated ten by the bitches
And I'm getting ri-dick-ulous, that's how many inches my dick is
Deuce: Undead revolution: one, two, three, go!

J-Dog: I got my name up on a wall with J.O.R.
I got arrested with Wes and the Scientist
I used to run with a gang, my parents sent me away
Producer showed me how to phrase, I like it better this way
Da Kurlzz: Now watch me fuck up this beat with J-D-O-G
Johnny, J-Dog, and me, we fuck fifty girls a week
J-Dog: I used to skate on the streets and always people would beef
Da Kurlzz and J-Dog: And they'd pull guns out on me, oh wait, that happened last week
Da Kurlzz: I'm used to dancing at shows, handing out the blows
You see me and Charlie Scene tag-teaming the hoes
J-Dog: And our army shines gold, got no albums sold
Da Kurlzz and J-Dog: It's just me and Da Kurlzz, we're taking over the world
J-Dog: And 3 Tears' got a mind like a Caesar
He writes lyrics, eats grapes and f-fucks at his own leisure
And the Funny Man ain't African, he's Mexican
Hard-headed like Republicans, Undead revolution!
Deuce: Undead revolution: one, two, three, go!

Deuce and Funny Man: And all the days come back to me
Deuce: (Come back to me)
Deuce and Funny Man: Come back to what we used to be

Deuce: (We'd stay the same, we'd never change)
Funny Man: And in the end, we'll find the rest

Deuce: The rest has gone away, oh
Johnny 3 Tears: We've got nothing in this world except for you boys and you girls
And we'll kill to the top and we'll laugh as they watch
Deuce: The rest has gone away, oh
Johnny 3 Tears: We've got nothing in this world except for you boys and you girls

Differences[]

  • There are some differences between the 2005 and 2008 versions of the song:
    • On the 2005 version, Funny Man's vocals are louder than on the 2008 version.
    • On the 2005 version, Tha Producer sings behind Charlie Scene on the lines "And now Undead will get props for the rest of our lives/And that's like getting a permanent high-five." On the 2008 version, Charlie Scene sings behind himself instead.
    • On the 2005 version, Charlie Scene says "haters get a black eye from seven crazy white guys." On the 2008 version, he says "haters get a black eye from six crazy white guys." This change is because from 2005 to 2008, the seventh member (Shady Jeff) was kicked from the band.
    • On the 2005 version, Shady Jeff screams "Undead revolution: one, two, three, go!" On the 2008 version, Deuce does the scream instead.
    • Also, on the 2005 version, the first time the line is screamed Funny Man accompanies Shady Jeff when screaming "Undead." On the 2008 version, Funny Man is removed from the line and never replaced.
    • On the 2005 version, Da Kurlzz says "Now watch us fuck up this beat, the J-D-O-G." On the 2008 version, he says "Now watch me fuck up this beat with J-D-O-G." It is unknown why this change occurred.
    • On the 2005 version, Da Kurlzz says "Shady, J-Dog, and me, we fuck fifty girls a week." On the 2007 version, he says "Johnny, J-Dog, and me, we fuck fifty girls a week."
    • On the 2005 version, J-Dog says "And Tha Server's got a mind like a Caesar." On the 2008 version, he says "And 3 Tears' got a mind like a Caesar." This change occurred due to Tha Server changing his stage-name to Johnny 3 Tears by 2008.
    • On the 2005 version, when Tha Producer sings "The rest has gone away, oh" at the end of the song, Shady Jeff can be heard screaming it behind him. On the 2008 version, Shady's vocals are removed and never replaced.
    • On the 2005 version, Da Kurlzz shouts "And we'll laugh as they watch!" with Tha Server at the very end of the song. On the 2008 version, however, Deuce shouts the line instead of Da Kurlzz.
