In an interview with Volume, Johnny 3 Tears said this about the song: "In my opinion, we as individuals are the source of all our happiness or misfortune. The vast majority of problems are created by people themselves. In my case, at least, the majority of the bad situations I found myself in were caused by none other than myself. The best way to deal with this is to accept that we all have mistakes and are lost in different ways, and not punish ourselves for it. I tried to make friends with myself and stop seeing myself as so negative."
